Magnet Wire Insulation

Insulstretch® 42HCF, 32HCF, 22HCF

Insulstretch Magnet Wire Insulationlnsulstretch 42HCF is a 3 mil, highly densified, thermally upgraded, creped/calendered
electrical paper with
15-20 percent MD
elongation. This grade
exhibits very high tensile strength with precision thickness and density.

This premium magnet wire insulation is well suited for
high speeds and tensions in wire wrapping operations.
After the wire is wrapped, this grade will give the
maximum amount of protection for small radius
bends in the coil winding process. Cindus grade
42HCF has proven to be a superior creped/
calendered magnet wire insulation.

lnsulstretch 32HCFis a 3 mil companion product to
42 HCF. This grade is a lower cost alternative that
provides superior tear strength but reduced tensile
strength. This grade also offers improved impulse
characteristics because of higher density.

lnsulstretch 22HCF is a 2 mil, highly
densified, thermally upgraded, creped/
calendered electrical paper with 15-20
percent elongation. This grade is offered to accommodate different insulation systems
that call for space saving 2 mil thickness.
This grade also supplies excellent mechanical
and insulating characteristics comparable
to 42HCF.

The densification process at Cindus Corporation can achieve densitieswell in excess of 1.0 gmlcc to provide higher impulse strengths. Cindus can customize the above grades to varying densities by altering the finished thickness.

The thermal upgrading system used on all
magnet wire grades is INSULDUR. Other upgrading systems can be furnished with appropriate quantities.

All magnet wire grades can be prepared as precision slit pads as narrow as 3/8" and as master rolls of up to 22 1/2" wide.

Thermal upgrading using alternative systems is available with appropriate quantities. Nitrogen content is varied depending on customer needs. All tests are certified to conform to specific requirements

Cindus aging performance meets all specifications and performance of competitive papers.

Tensile Aging Chart

Cindus is less stiff and protects against compressive forces.

 Stiffness Chart

Cindus has a better TEA for wire wrapping and coil winding.

Expert Remarks: If the objective of these studies was to compare the Cindus and our competitors upgraded papers, it has been accomplished. Both papers are very similar in properites, although there are minor differences: The competitor crepe is stiffer than Cindus crepe. However, the stretch properties are most important only during taping. Aged insulation on the conductors do not experience tensile forces, but short circuit events exert compressive forces, and we do not have a comparative evaluation of these properties.

Insulstretch Tubes

Insulstretch TubesCindus Insulstretch Tubes are made from electrical grade creped paper, wound convolutely for maximum flexibility. Available in a number of different sizes and wall thicknesses, Insulstretch Tubes are tested for conformance to industry standards.

Seams
Seams made of specialized adhesive are strong and durable, designed to resist splitting while retaining optimum flexibility. Power Factor stability is insured
by the chemical nature of the adhesive and the use
of only the amount necessary to properly fabricate
the tubes.

Performance
Insulstretch Tubes are designed for maximum performance in all applications. Contact us at

Insulstretch Hand Tape

Electrical InsulationPapersThese products are
used for a variety of
end uses from
automotive starter
motors and electric
motors to static rings,
high voltage cable and coil separation sheets. The base
paper used is either 3 or 5 mil high density or low density
stock. The stretch and thickness is varied to meet the
needs of the end user. Thermal upgrading to INSULDUR, GETP or other systems is available with appropriate quantities. Laminate grades of 51OH are available for specific needs.

High Density: 55H, 55HC, 510H, 510HC,
35H, 35HC, 310H, 310HC
Low Density: 35,310,55,510, 510C.

Automotive starter motors, electric motors, static rings, high voltage cable wrap and other hand taping applications have used Cindus Insulstretch products. These grades are also used for coil separation in the coil winding process. Either high or low density grades can be calendered to precise thicknesses.

X-Crepe has also been used in starter motor applications where greater flexibility is needed for convolute wire wraps that must endure extreme radius bending. Sample grades of X-Crepe are available upon request.
